Australia Zoo

  Australia Zoo, home of the Crocodile Hunter is a fantastic day out and only a short distance from the Gold Coast.  The Irwin family, Terri, Bindi and Robert play a huge part of the Australia Zoo family and are keen and devoted conservationists.  You can learn and even become a part of Australia Zoo's conservation projects.  Australia Zoo offer up close and personal experiences with all types of animals including koalas, crocodiles and even tigers!   
     
World Heritage listed, Lamington National Park lies Southwest of the Gold Coast.  The beauty is found in the lush rainforests, ancient beech trees, glorious mountain views and birdlife.  Bushwalking is a favourite activity to immerse yourself in the spectacular flora and fauna this region has to offer.  The roots of some of the oldest Antartic Beech Trees are 5000 years old!  Near the wonderful OReillys Guesthouse and Plateu is a Tree top walk.  Suspended 15 metres above ground allowing you to walk through the forest canopy on a series of suspension bridges whilst breathing in the clean crisp rainforest air.

  The glorious surfing town of Byron Bay is the most easterly point of Australia.  Famous for the Byron Lighthouse, a number of spectacular beaches, surfing and whale watching; it also has a shameful past including whaling and sand mining.  Nowadays, it is noted for it's wildlife and attracts many holiday makers domestically and from overseas including celebrities.
